Natural products are chemical substances produced by living organisms (plants, bacteria, fungi and marine organisms, insects,…). A substance is considered a natural product even if it can be prepared by total synthesis.
Natural products can either be issued from primary or the secondary metabolism (as primary metabolites or secondary metabolites).Biodiversity represents the sum of all living organisms.
